Biography

My career in photography began as a lab assistant in the darkroom of a regional newspaper group, working alongside 'old boy photographers' proud of their black and white photojournalism. Not until a year later was I allowed out on the road with the company camera to photograph a flower show! Progressing upwards from junior photographer to senior photographer and then group photographer, I spent my free time stringing for the ‘RedTops’, and airport press. In 1988 I decided to become freelance and have not looked back since. Trained by the National Council for the Training of Journalists, my experience has given me insight of the photographic needs of media and press reportage in its many forms, enabling me to produce strong bold images to accompany good editorial content.

Arriving at an assignment, I get a buzz working out the best strategy from the brief. Bringing an enthusiasm and energy, I enjoy involving the staff and pushing hard to achieve the best results creating dynamic images in a fast and professional delivery time. With this approach, my reputation has become established as a flexible, efficient and trusted business to business PR photographer for many blue chip companies within the UK.

Another aspiration of mine is to become an installation artist, bringing together my interest of contemporary art from visits to notable places such as Tate Modern, Sculpture at Goodwood and Jean Miro’s home.

Best Regards

Neale
